By browsing through this site, you will find information on candidate filing, voter registration, and absentee voting.  Some of this information will not appear on this site until closer to an upcoming election. Some of your questions may also be answered by visiting Anoka County Election's website or the Secretary of State's Election webpage.

Am I eligible to vote?

You may register and vote in Minnesota if you:

  • will be at least 18 years old on election day;
  • are a citizen of the United States;
  • will have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding election day;
  • maintain residence at the address given on the registration form;
  • are not under court-ordered guardianship in which the court order revokes my right to vote;
  • have not been found by a court to be legally incompetent to vote;
  • have the right to vote because, if I have been convicted of a felony, my felony sentence has expired (been completed) or I have been discharged from my sentence, and have read and understand this statement, that giving false information is a felony punishable by not more than 5 years imprisonment or a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.

How do I become an election judge?

Serving as an Election Judge is an excellent way to get involved within your community. You will learn election procedures, and ensure that elections are administered in a fair manner. Election Judges are an essential part of our democracy and are needed more than ever.  If you are interested in learning more about being an Election Judge, contact City Hall 763-784-2792.

How do I vote absentee?

Persons unable to go to their polling place location on Election Day but still want to vote in the election can vote by absentee ballot.  In Minnesota, all citizens are allowed to vote absentee.

When is the next election?

Lexington Does Not Have Municipal Elections This Year

  • November 4th 2025 for School Districts : ISD 11 (Subdistricts 3, 4, 6), ISD 14, ISD 16 2025 Municipal Elections: Circle Pines, Lino Lakes

Where do I vote?

The City of Lexington only has one polling place located at Lexington City Hall, 9180 Lexington Avenue.  Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during elections.
