Am I eligible to vote?
You may register and vote in Minnesota if you:

• will be at least 18 years old on election day;
• are a citizen of the United States;
• will have resided in Minnesota for 20 days immediately preceding election day;
• maintain residence at the address given on the registration form;
• are not under court-ordered guardianship in which the court order revokes my right to vote;
• have not been found by a court to be legally incompetent to vote;
• have the right to vote because, if I have been convicted of a felony, my felony sentence has expired (been completed) or I have been discharged from my sentence, and have read and understand this statement, that giving false information is a felony punishable by not more than 5 years imprisonment or a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.

How do I become an election judge?
Serving as an Election Judge is an excellent way to get involved within your community. You will learn election procedures, and ensure that elections are administered in a fair manner. Election Judges are an essential part of our democracy and are needed more than ever.  If you are interested in learning more about being an Election Judge, contact City Hall 763-784-2792.

How do I vote absentee?
Persons unable to go to their polling place location on Election Day but still want to vote in the election can vote by absentee ballot.  In Minnesota, all citizens are allowed to vote absentee.

When is the next election?

• TUESDAY, MARCH 5th 2024 PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION PRIMARY
• TUESDAY, AUGUST 13th 2024 STATE PRIMARY ELECTION
• TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5th 2024, PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
• POLLING IS OPEN 7AM TO 8PM

Beginning October 29th 2024 residents can visit City Hall to receive their ballot for the Presidential Election and vote that day.  An application will need to be filled out and verified by the State , you will then be given a ballot and once you vote you can place it in the ballot counting machine.

Where do I vote?
The City of Lexington only has one polling place located at Lexington City Hall, 9180 Lexington Avenue.  Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during elections.
